Condolences to the family of Darrell Hannam

The club and its members would like to offer our condolences to the family of Darrell Hannam, father of club member Jeff Hannam.

The obituary is below:

Hannam, Darrell Erwin, 90, of Bridgetown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2024, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.  Born in West Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Stanley and Muriel (Durling) Hannam.  Darrell was a warden of his church and president of the Chamber of Commerce in all the communities in which he lived.  He was the past president of the Kinsmen Club of Liverpool and District Governor, Maritime Provinces.  Darrell retired from public service after 35 years in managerial positions with Employment and Immigration Canada.  Since his retirement, he was active in politics and held positions as President, Treasurer and Chairman for Fund Raising for the Annapolis PC Association.  Darrell cherished time with his family.  From 1996 until the time it was sold, “The Beachcomber Cottage” in Hampton had been Darrell and Connie’s home five months a year and brought them great joy.

He is fondly remembered by his loving wife, Connie; sons, Jeffrey (Tracy) of Charlottetown and Jamie (Gylle) of Halifax; grandchildren, Alex (Laura), Zac, Erin, Matthew, and Clark; great-grandchildren Madison and Noah; brothers-in-law David Mack and David Nowe. He was predeceased by sisters Audrey Mack and Mona Nowe; sister-in-law Eleanor Duncan; and brothers-in-law Maurice and Allan Bent. Following Darrell’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown.  A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. James’s Anglican Church, Bridgetown, with Rev. Julia Ford officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
