It turned out to be a perfect day for golf on Saturday, with a combination of sun and cloud, and enough wind to keep the bugs away, as 45 members of the Cornwall Curling Club took part in their annual golf tournament at beautiful Countryview Golf Course.

The golfers also had a tenth “hole” this year, with each player getting four chances at “washer toss” with each successful toss resulting in a reduction in the teams score.

Teams then hit the deck to discuss their best shots over a drink (or two):

Meanwhile, Karen and Mark were busy at the barbecue, cooking up burgers and sausages on a bun (with cake for dessert)

Following the food, it was time to hand out the prizes, donated by our generous sponsors, including Countryview Golf Course, Traction Heavy Duty Parts, Prebilt Steel, and Kenmac Energy. The prize for the lowest score, taking into account both golf and washer toss results, went to the three member team of Carl Currie, Karen Montgomery, and Tracy MacDonald.

Thanks to everyone who attended, to the organizers and helpers, including Countryview owners Karen and Carl, along with Kris, Bob, Mark, and everyone else who helped make the event a success! We’ll see everyone back at our brand new curling club (some assembly required!) in the fall!
