Entries closed for Pepsi-Juniors – 5 of the 12 teams are from the host Cornwall Curling Club

The Cornwall Curling Club is this year’s host club for the 2013 Pepsi Provincial Juniors Curling Championship, open to junior men’s and women’s curlers age 20 and under. Three-time defending women’s champion skip Sarah Fullerton is now out of the age group, so there will be a new junior  women’s champ this year, chosen from five entries. Defending junior men’s champion skip Alex Matters is not back this year, but three members of his rink – Christopher Gallant, Kyle Holland, and Andrew Cameron, along with Taylor McInnis, are entered, along with six other rinks.

There is one junior men’s team entered from the host club, skipped by Tyler Smith. Christopher Gallant and Shawn Pitre are entered from Charlottetown, while Justin  Campbell and Alex MacFadyen are skipping rinks from the Silver Fox. Cody Dixon from Montague, and Matthew MacLean from O’Leary’s Maple Leaf Curling Club round out the men’s entries.

Three junior women’s teams, skipped by Amanda MacLean, Rachel O’Connor, and Veronica Smith are from the Cornwall Curling Club, while the Emily Keen team is from Charlottetown and Cornwall, and the Kaleigh MacKay foursome are from Crapaud and the Silver Fox.

The winning teams will advance to the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors, February 2-10, 2013, in Fort McMurray Alberta.
