Important: Club Closed Sunday Nov. 29 for a thorough and deep clean. All curling cancelled Sunday only

A Note from the Management and Board of Directors of the Cornwall Curling Club:

Hello Cornwall Curling Club Members,

We hope this note finds everyone enjoying their weekend….

As most of you know, since the start of the curling season, our club has enacted very strict cleaning and sanitization standards and procedures.

We have employed an extremely diligent custodial contractor who provides us “deep clean” janitorial services seven days per week.

This is further complemented by “enhanced cleaning and sanitation” (chairs, tables, door handles, light switches, taps, etc…) five times daily.

(During the week this happens after our morning Daytime Drop in, our Afternoon Stick Curling, after our Junior Practice, and after our first evening draw, and at the end of the evening after our last draw leaves….and after every user group on weekends).

With this commitment to safety, cleaning, and sanitization, we have decided (in light of the news today from Dr. Morrison and the Provincial Government)  to close tomorrow, Sunday November 29th 2020, for a thorough and deep clean.

Of course this means that we have cancelled all curling Sunday at the club.
This includes our Morning Members’ Practice, ParaSport user group, Little Rockers, Novice, Afternoon Members’ Practice, Doubles Curling, and our evening rental group.

We want to emphasize that we have no reports or inquiries from users or CPHO over any contact tracing.

We are ONLY taking this action to be community members who are contributing to overall safer communities.

We feel this is an important part of our commitment and contribution to public health diligence.

We have contacted our contracted cleaning services and they will be on-site cleaning.

We will make every effort to make up for the lost day in the future.

Again, this measure is to err on the side of caution and to remain committed to our oath of health and safety as a priority as we pursue the benefits of recreation and sport.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Club Manager, Lori at 902-566-4427 or cornwallcurling@eastlink.ca .
