A huge crowd is on hand tonight at the benefit for Cornwall Curling Club member Paul Horne at the North Shore Community Centre. Paul, who suffered a significant cardiac attack on the ice at the Club on Monday, January 18th, was released from hospital on April 9th, and was in attendance to greet everyone at the fundraiser. Besides a lot of occupational therapy, renovations were required to accommodate Paul at home, and he will need to travel off Island for further tests. At tonight’s benefit, Krista Affleck, who had performed CPR on Paul at the Club, was congratulated by Paul and his wife Eileen for her courageous assistance.

Fundraising activities tonight included a silent auction, a 50X50 draw, and a live auction for some of the “big ticket” items, including a Cornwall Curling Club membership, donated by the Club, and purchased by Paul Neima. Cornwall Club member Scott Jeffrey, who donated his Movin’ and Groovin’ DJ service (peidj.com) for the night, is on stage now, spinning the disks for the dance. Thanks to everyone who helped make this night a huge success!
