Schedule Changes THIS WEEK

We are once again entering a period of schedule changes at the club with several rentals, a provincial event, and end of season events being hosted at the club.

As a reminder the best place to stay up to date on the club schedule is the schedule page (https://cornwallcurling.com/schedule/) – we do our best to keep it updated approximately a week in advance.

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE CHANGES OF NOTE:

  • THURSDAY AM DROP-IN will begin at 10:00am and be 6-ends only to accommodate a school group on Thursday, February 19th.
  • There will be NO FRIDAY AFTERNOON STICK DROP-IN on Friday, February 20th to accommodate a rental group.
  • There will be NO SUNDAY MORNING PRACTICES, STICK DROP-IN, SUNDAY MORNING DROP-IN, LITTLE ROCKERS, NOVICE, U18 LEARN TO CURL, SUNDAY JUNIOR CURLING, ADULT LEARN TO CURL, or PARASPORT on Sunday, February 22nd to accommodate the Island Pride Bonspiel rental group.
  • NOTE:  There will be a few extra SUNDAY EVENING MEMBERS PRACTICES available the evening of Sunday, February 22nd.

As a reminder – we do our very best to balance the various needs of various groups within the club throughout the season while also providing opportunities to grow the sport of curling through rentals to schools and outside groups and to foster competitive curling through hosting provincial events.

Rentals bring in a significant amount of income every season allowing us to keep membership rates lower than we would otherwise be able.  Hosting provincial events not only brings in rental income, but ensures our competitive curlers have opportunities not only at our club, but at other clubs as well to compete at the provincial level.

Every league/membership page at the start of the season reminds us:  NOTE: A season schedule is available on the website and in the manager’s office with the club calendar of major events, indicating when there will be regular draws or special events. The Cornwall Curling Club reserves the right to re-schedule and/or cancel sessions due to weather and/or club events, without compensation. Our club offers membership, not guaranteed “ice time”.. Reasonable efforts will be made to allow for teams to re-schedule their games due to cancellation times related to weather or club events.
