Team MacLean gets ready for Junior Women’s Nationals!

There was lots of excitement here at 29 Cornwall Road yesterday as Cornwall Curling Club’s, and PEI’s U21 Pepsi Provincial Junior Women’s Champions,  Team MacLean, got ready for the 2022 New Holland Canadian Under-21 Curling Championships, Mar. 25-Apr. 1, 2022 at the Stratford Rotary Complex in Stratford, Ont.

Club President Shauna McGill (centre in picture) was on hand to present Rachel, Sydney, Lexi, and Abby a cheque on behalf of the membership of the Cornwall Curling Club in recognition of winning the Pepsi U21 Provincial Junior Women’s Championships! The donation is intended to help the team with travel expenses relating to their trip as they represent our Club at the Nationals!

Peter Gallant

Team Maclean also spent their practice session yesterday with elite Curling Coach Peter Gallant, as he helped them fine-tune their game! Peter is an incredible asset to the curling community and it was so great to see him on site!

Team MacLean with chocolate-covered chips from COWS

Team MacLean also unpacked some incredible swag from PEI’s own COWS… some signature chocolate-covered chips!! Team MacLean expressed their deepest thanks to Cows, as they donated the chips to the team to present at the “Parents’ Reception”. This is where teams bring food that has a special representation of their home province and share it with parents from across the country! We certainly are very proud that PEI and COWS will have a place at the table with other provinces for many to enjoy!! Thank-you COW for supporting curling on PEI, and young curlers!

From all of us here at the Cornwall Curling Club… Good Luck to Team MacLean!
Play well and enjoy it all!!
