The first round of the Thursday evening Single Entry Mixed League came down to a tight finish between the rink of Landon Warder, Robbie Gauthier, Jennifer Lenentine, and Laurie Kelly, and the team of  Bruce Thompson, Katelyn Burgoyne, George Piercey, and Patricia McCarville.  At the end of the last evening, it appeared that Bruce’s team had the lead, but when points were calculated for Landon’s bye, it gave Landon and his team the first-place honours, with 86 points to Bruce’s 76, and Week 7 not being played due to the 2-week “Circuit Breaker” shutdown of team sports on PEI.

Because Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are both on Thursday this year, even if curling resumes as scheduled on December 21, Thursday evening Round Two, sponsored by Mary’s Cornwall Bakery, won’t be starting until January 7th. The Round Two teams and schedule will be sent out after Christmas.
