Veronica Smith rink bows out in semi-finals at Curl Atlantic Ch’ship

It was a great weekend for Cornwall’s Veronica Smith junior team, a last minute entry in the women’s division of the Curl Atlantic Championship at the CARI Complex in Charlottetown, but they did not advance to the 4 pm final. The team stole the 7th end in their semi-final game against Sylvie Robichaud of New Brunswick to take a 4-3 lead coming home without hammer. Smith had to get in behind a Robichaud rock with her last stone in the 8th end, but was light, and Robichaud picked up 3 points to win 6-4, and advance to the final, against PEI’s Kathy O’Rourke.

The other final will see PEI’s Adam Casey take on Chad Stevens.
