The club and its members would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of club member Kenneth Monaghan, who passed away recently.

Kenneth’s Obituary

Suddenly Monday August 24 th 2026 Kenneth passed away at QEH surrounded by his loving family, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born October 15th 1953 to Gerald and Doris ( nee Kelly) Monaghan of South Melville PEI. Kenneth resided in South Melville most of his life until his later years when he moved to Charlottetown.

Kenneth had a profound love for his farm and agriculture and turned his hand at many careers including Marine Atlantic, selling monuments for Powers and Nelson, CFIA, teaching and Strathgartney Golf course.

There was no bigger fan for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays than Kenneth, he watched every game on the edge of his seat in the comfort of his own home and was ready to question their every play. He will surely miss his dear friends for chats, walks and most importantly those games of golf and curling.

Kenneth was survived by his loving sister; Brenda (Doug dec.) Davey, nephew; Shawn (Lisa MacIntyre) Davey, nieces; Kim (Darrell) Affleck, Stephanie (Kevin Boulter) Davey, and brother; Moe (Nancy), nephews; Louis, Tyson and nieces; Shayna and Amber.

He was predeceased by parents Gerald and Doris Monaghan and his brothers Raymond, Louis and Billy, Brother in law Doug Davey.

Special thank you to RCMP, Island EMS, First responders, North river fire dept, Dept of transportation and all staff of QEH for the amazing response and immaculate compassion Kenneth received and shown to our family.

If so desired donations in memory of Kenneth can be made to St. Josephs Cemetery fund for maintenance and repair of headstones.

Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St Joseph Parish in Kellys Cross on Saturday, August 29th at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Online condolences may be made through www.hccpei.ca
