Curling Day in Canada Part 5

#CurlingDayInCanada -Part 5

From the dedicated service of our Board of Directors of 40 years ago to the selfless service of the Board of Directors today… and all those in-between….our club has been tremendously fortunate to benefit from the time, resources, and passions of club members who have served.

They are, and have been, invaluable.
For without their service….
There is no curling.
There is no club.

Astute governance of your club is imperative to support a thriving and growing club culture and environment, and the Board of Directors of the Cornwall Curling have guided and served their club and community to a place of great success!

From less than a hundred members to serving over well over 400 hundred members / five hundred users per week. We are a club that operates seven days per week, most often thirteen hours per day. We currently offer seventeen programs or leagues per week at the Cornwall Curling Club.

A wonderful thriving club requires the Board of Directors be willing to share their time, resources, and creativity. This can be challenging when balancing a career, a family, and all the other roles in life that require attention. It can be a thankless role.
Emails trains, meetings, fielding feedback from hundreds of members~ many who may entirely different ideas or goals from each other.

However…. the rewards can also be really special.
An opportunity to stand back and observe a community of people are able to enjoy that of which you have so selfishly contributed. That your actions and time have benefited the lives of others.

What a tremendous gift.

It takes a special person to know that ‘giving back’ is an important part of reciprocal living. That when we have an opportunity to contribute our skills, with heart, and give back… that we should.

So today… on ‘Curling Day in Canada’ we extend a very heartfelt thank you to our current Board of Directors, and all those who have served in past.

Your efforts have contributed to a beautiful community and important recreation for citizens of all ages, over many years.

You have been, and are, the heartbeat of a community of people who need the house of which you serve… especially during challenging times .
