LEARN TO CURL PROGRAMS
We LOVE the sport of curling at the Cornwall Curling Club and have a passion for sharing that love with people who are interested in learning about and trying the sport.
Each year we host two FREE pre-season introductory classes – one for children ages 6-12, and one for those thirteen through adults.
These are a great way to get on the ice, learn a little about the rules of the sport, meet some of our club members, and learn the basics of curling.
We also offer longer instructional sessions through the year:
- Little Rockers (Ages 6-7)
- Novice (Ages 8-12)
- Adult Learn to Curl
- U18 Learn to Curl (Ages 13-18)
FREE Intro to Curling FUN DAY (Ages 6-12)
Is your child looking for a winter activity that is super fun and requires no equipment to start (except any CSA-approved helmet)?
Children from ages six to twelve can try curling at the Cornwall Curling Club’s FREE Intro to Curling FUN DAY on Sunday, October 19, 2024 from 1:00pm-2:30pm
This session is for who would like to try the fun sport of curling, learn some of the rules, and throw a few rocks down the ice!
If your child enjoys the event and is interested, you can sign them up for our full season Little Rockers and Novice programs.

This event is FREE. Limit of 32 curlers.

Indoor CLEAN footwear and loose clothing are required, dressing in warm layers is recommended. Any CSA-approved helmet is mandatory.

FREE Come Try Curling for Adults and Teens! (Ages 13 – Adult)
Adults and teens who would like to try the fun sport of curling are invited to attend the Cornwall Curling Club’s FREE, no-obligation three-evening introductory Come Try Curling event on and off-ice instructional sessions on October 3rd, 4th, and 7th – beginning at 6:30pm each evening.
8-Week Adult Learn to Curl Program
For those wanting a more in-depth introduction to curling than our pre-season introductory Learn to Curl sessions, we offer an 8-Week Adult Learn to Curl Program that will introduce you to the sport of curling and is designed for beginning curlers, those returning to the sport after time off, or newer curlers looking to improve their game!
While many people feel comfortable joining in one of our recreational leagues right out of the pre-season introductory Learn to Curl sessions, we found that some new curlers weren’t quite ready to make the jump into a league – so this program fills that gap.
Each session will include off-ice instruction and also on-ice instruction and activities – including drills, mini-games, etc. As the weeks progress more and more time will be spent learning through playing in games. This is an excellent “follow-up” to our introductory pre-season Learn to Curl events, but participation in that event is NOT required to join this program.
The program will run on Sunday from October 19th through December 14th (except October 26th) from 4:30pm – 6:00pm.
This program costs $115 including tax. An $28 fee for Curling Canada and CurlPEI is also required for insurance and programming purposes.

U18 Learn to Curl Program (Ages 13 – 18)
Our U18 Learn to Curl program will run concurrently with our Sunday Junior Curling program this year on Sundays from 2:30pm-4:00pm and is designed for teens who are new to curling or haven’t played in a few years.
New curlers will receive instruction on the basics of curling – sliding, throwing, sweeping, strategy, etc. – as well as have the opportunity to participate in game settings throughout the season.
This programs will run on Sundays from November 2, 2025 through March 15, 2026 from 2:30pm-4:30pm – except the following Sundays:
