Jean Coffin, wife of Club founder Roy Coffin, passes away

Cornwall Curling Club Board of Directors, staff, and members were saddened to hear of the passing of Jean Coffin, wife of Club founder Roy Coffin, on the weekend.

Roy and Jean celebrated 50 years of marriage in November 2011.

Jean wasn’t a curler, but was well-known at the Club, frequently helping out, accompanying her husband and actively participating in many of our events over the years.

Roy began his history with the Club as a member of the planning and implementation committee in 1980, was on the charter Board of Directors starting in 1981, coached their daughter Nancy’s team to a provincial junior championship in 1983, the year after the Club opened, and continued to curl and volunteer at the Club.
