The club hosted the 12th Annual Mixed Doubles Spiel this weekend with 14 teams participating.

The event came down to the last rock thrown with Brent Irving and Angela Sanderson gaining the victory going undefeated and scoring 47 points.

Connor MacEwen and Kacey Gauthier tied for second with Chris and Melissa Creighton with both teams scoring 38 points.  They also had the same number of  wins and ends won, with the 2nd place prize going to Team MacEwen/Gauthier thanks to the results of a coin toss.

Speaking of coins, we decided to start a new tradition (playing on another great Canadian sporting tradition) with the team(s) finishing in last place getting a Lucky Loonie in hopes they’ll have better luck in their next spiel.

As luck (and skill) would have it the club manager and his wife Emilie were the first “winners” of the Lucky Loonie – along with team Wood/Arsenault.
