Besides our revamped website and our very popular email list, the Cornwall Curling Club now offers  several other ways to keep in touch! You can get the latest news via our Facebook page, by following us on Twitter, or by adding our RSS feed to your newsreader.  There are links to these on the website home page at CornwallCurling.com. Be sure to add yourself as a Fan on our Facebook page!

If you would like to receive Club news via text, you can use the SMS options on your Twitter or Facebook profiles, or enter your cell phone’s “SMS by email” address (see below) in the  “Get news by email” box on the sidebar of our home page. Note that SMS messages only send you the first 140 characters of a news item. Standard text rates apply, of course.

Your email address to receive text on your cell phone is your ten digit cell phone number plus one of the following suffixes (e.g. 9025551212@txt.bell.ca):

These addresses are subject to change. Contact your carrier if they don’t work.

Cornwall Curling Club – new website and news system

September 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

The Cornwall Curling Club website is undergoing its first major revision since it was put in place in 2000. This is a test of the new news system. We have imported the old subscriber list for our emailed news into the new system. If you want to subscribe or unsubscribe to emailed news, please enter your email address in the “Get News by Email” section on the right hand sidebar at CornwallCurling.com.

The new news system has better formatting, and will allow you to comment on news items. The new system is based on the powerful “WordPress” blogging and content management platform. You can also subscribe to news items using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and an RSS reader such as Google Reader or Bloglines — just click on the orange button at the top of the sidebar.

We’ll be rolling out more website features, including a photo album, as time permits. Your suggestions are appreciated.
