Keep up to date via our website or by Facebook, Twitter, email or RSS!

As things get underway for the season at the Cornwall Curling Club, we want to let you know of the many ways we have to keep in touch. Besides our Club email address (info@cornwallcurling.com), and our phone number (902-566-4427), you can keep in touch with what’s happening through our Cornwall curling news. For several years, we have been making our latest news and information available in a number of ways  – our CornwallCurling.com website, our email distribution list, Twitter, RSS (for use with news feed readers), and Facebook. Click the icons/links on our PEICurling.com home page to find out how to access each of these channels. Our email list is very popular, and all you have to do is to click on the email link and type in your email address to start receiving our email. Many of you already use Twitter and Facebook to keep in touch, and you can pick up the news instantly with these tools, and share and retweet to others, too.

For consistency of message, we deliver our news to all these channels at the same time, pushed automatically from our WordPress website. We also have the capability to distribute messages via an individual channel (such as live results via Twitter) when the need arises, but want to ensure that our primary news items are seen by everyone, regardless of which applications they use.  We have also worked to make our website look good on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, and to make it “more social”, by allowing comments  on our website and Facebook pages.

We have also installed  updated“Sharing” buttons on our website following each news item and web page, so that you can Like or Share an item on Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn and a variety of other social media to help spread the news about our Club far and wide!

One connection that has not been working as well as we would have liked is our link to Facebook. We have been using “Networked Blogs” which has consistently delivered our news to Facebook, but with a delay, sometimes of several hours.  We have now replaced it with a new system, the “Wordbooker” WordPress plugin, which delivers our news to Facebook both consistently AND immediately. We also hope to be able to get another exciting Wordbooker feature, the capability of synchronizing comments between WordPress and Facebook, working at some time, but it’s not working properly yet.

As the new curling season gets underway, we are working hard to ensure that you will always have the latest Cornwall Curling Club  information, regardless of how you follow us!
